Profitable July for Eicher Motors
Eicher motors may have suffered loss in the past year(s) due to decline in sales figures, but in the current fiscal year Eicher Motors has been making profits. Among the recent ones, Eicher Motors made a great comeback with increase in sales figures in the past of July 2014.
In July 2014, Eicher Trucks and Buses (ETB) recorded a growth of 6.1 % in sales including Domestic and Export markets. Eicher sold 3341 units in July 2014 as compared to 3150 units in July 2013. In the domestic Commercial Vehicle market, for trucks and buses of 5-Tonne and above, Eicher Motors recorded sales of 2955 units as compared to 2915 units last year. The Exports market also displayed increase in record sales of 386 units in July 2014 as compared to 235 units in previous year, thus amounting for 64.3 % growth.
Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), is a 50-50 joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited. In operation since July 2008, the company includes the complete range of Eicher branded trucks and buses, VE Powertrain, Eicher’s components and engineering design services businesses, the sales and distribution business of Volvo Trucks as well as aftermarket support to Volvo Buses in India. VECV is currently focused on the development and launching of its PRO series of truck and buses.
