Eicher recorded decreased sales figure this February


Eicher Motors Limited (EML) Commercial Vehicle division Eicher Trucks and Buses (ETB) recorded a decrease in sales figure past month – February 2014. Eicher trucks and buses shown a 23 % drop of sales in respect to February 2013. This is evident as Eicher sold only 2840 units of its products (trucks and buses) in comparison to 3690 units last year.

The domestic Commercial Vehicle market displayed sales of only 2531 units of Eicher trucks and buses (having GVW from 5 to 49 Tonnes) in reference to 3538 units sold last February, thus accounting for 28.5 % decline. Though the Domestic CV market showed no rise in sales for Eicher, but the International market showed a rise in demand for the Eicher commercial vehicles. Eicher exported 309 units of its Commercial Vehicles this February in comparison to 152 units, last February, thus recording a growth of 103.3 %.

The company expects to see a rise in sales in near future as Volvo and Eicher’s 50:50 Joint Venture – the VECV (Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles) has recently launched a new range of products – the Pro-series, which has trucks and buses of 5 to 49 Tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) range. VECV has started the production of these advanced vehicles and soon it will be available to its customers.
